In Las Vegas, you should choose your hotel based on two things:
 | The bars |
 | The pool |
Based on this theory, there are only a few places to stay:
 | Hard Rock Hotel and Casino: small rooms, but a great pool, some decent restaurants, and
a raging, raging bar...that never stops raging. |
 | Mandalay Bay: A younger crowd with some fun night spots (Red Square, Rum
Jungle) and a great pool. |
 | The Palms: the new hip spot; great pool; a bar with great views (Ghost
Bar); and a cool club (Rain). |
However, I'm getting older. So, the following represent my matured
choices:
 | Bellagio: great lobby, the best restaurants, and, of course, the fountain
show; rooms are pretty decent |
 | The Wynn: a lot of hype, but not bad; worth a try just for the restaurants |
 | The Pallazzo: haven't tried it yet, but will next time. |
