I used to like the summer.  It would stay light forever and I could ride my Schwinn Sting Ray well past dinnertime.

Two things have changed.  First, I never miss dinner.  Second, I live near NYC.   I now loathe the summer.  The heat.  The humidity. The only way to deal with it is by drinking.  Those of you who know me are aware that I am a seasonal drinker.  The drink must be appropriate for the season.  Here are my picks for the Summer:

1. The Tractor Pull (Gin, St. Germain, grapefruit juice, wheat beer)
2. Mt. Gay & Tonic with lime
3. Plymouth Gin Martini with anchovy-stuffed olives
4. Pastis over ice at lunch
5. Herradura Anejo on the rocks with lime

By Labor Day, you should be tired of Gay & Tonic.  By Memorial Day, you will be craving one.  You will not have one until then.  You are a seasonal drinker.
