I think there are more Italian restaurants in NYC that Italy. Many of them are pretty darn good. Selecting a Top 5 is a daunting task, but one that I have accepted joyously. My research is not complete...it is nowhere near complete. I will continue to research and research. Try new places and reaffirm the old...what a life. Anyway, after 7 years of research, I would like to publish my inaugural list. Let the controversy begin. (If I missed a place, let me know. Better yet, take me there.)
Lupa just dropped off as I added Marea. Mario Batali had two in the Top 5. He deserves it for he is clearly Iron Chef Italian. But Marea is knocking on Babbo's door! |
