In Las Vegas, you should choose your hotel based on two things:
 | The bars |
 | The pool |
Therefore, there are only a few places to stay:
 | Hard Rock Hotel and Casino: small rooms, but a great pool, some decent restaurants, and
a raging, raging bar...that never stops raging. |
 | Mandalay Bay: A younger crowd with some fun night spots (Red Square, Rum
Jungle) and a great pool. |
 | The Palms: the new hip spot; great pool; a bar with great views (Ghost
Bar); and a cool club (Rain). |
If you want a nice room to get away from all the partying:
 | Bellagio: great lobby, the best restaurants, and, of course, the fountain show. |
After-thoughts:
 | Caesar's Palace: great pool and great shopping |
 | Four Seasons: the least Vegas of all the hotels |
 | Paris: Not bad |
 | Venitian: my favorite casino; now with the Canyon Ranch Spa! |
Avoid all others.
