It sickens me that I am putting Atlanta on this web site. For the six months that
I lived there, I ate at two places:
 | The Waffle House: The Best Restaurant in Atlanta, bar none; total consistency; brilliant
hash browns; excellent condiments; great music; impeccable service; bring a franchise to
NYC! ($) |
 | The Buckhead Diner: Not great, but the blue cheese homemade potato chips were great in
1994 ($$$) |
Recently, friends in Atlanta have introduced me to some decent places, but I can't
remember the names. I do remember:
 | Bacchnalia: The best restaurant in Atlanta; consistently good; great
cheese cart; cool market ($$$$) |
 | Iris: In a cool area and one of the best meals I've
had in the South; try the pork! ($$$) |
 | Jake's Ice Cream: Truly amazing ice cream,
especially the brown vanilla; you'll love Della, their cow! ($) |
 | The Food Studio: In the King Plow district; cool space; innovative food ($$$) |
 | Sotto Sotto: Great wine selection and solid Italian food (for Atlanta) ($$$) |
 | Any Restaurant on Buford Highway! ($) |
 | Floataway Cafe: I was not impressed, but I rarely am in Atlanta ($$$) |
There are some bad restaurants, but I don't want to clog up the site. There are too
many to list.
The steak houses are totally over-rated:
 | Bones is the best, but it is not that great. |
 | Chops is an over-priced tourist-trap |
 | Angelo & Maxies is now open...ughhhh |
 | Mortons is your best bet. |
